Director of Commissioning for Nations & Regions and Head of Lifestyle, Channel 4
Jo Street is the newly appointed Director of Commissioning for Nations & Regions and Head of Lifestyle at Channel 4. She oversees a talented team who are based across the UK – in Glasgow, Bristol, Leeds & London and they deliver a huge slate of broad appeal, returning series on the channel, like Great Pottery Throwdown, Location, Location, Location, Amanda Owen’s Our Farm Next Door, Britain’s Most Expensive Houses, Chateau DIY…as well as some of the most watched & much imitated consumer one-off’s like Air-Fryers: Are they worth it?, Secrets of the Middle Aisle & Secrets of the Own Brands. She is a passionate advocate for Out of London production and intends to use her new role to amplify the channels relationships and commissioning activity with suppliers across the UK. Prior to joining C4 she spent 25 years at the BBC where she commissioned several long running returning series like Scotland’s Home of the year, The Hit List, Antiques Road Trip & Money for Nothing after a long career in production where amongst other things she directed Countryfile and Exec’d the Weakest Link.

Shaminder Nahal

Head of Specialist Factual at Channel 4
She commissioned The Piano and the department’s output includes SAS: Who Dares Wins, and Guy Martin and Grayson Perry’s work . Shaminder has commissioned contemporary history and culture series Defiance, Miners’ Strike 1984: The Battle for Britain, Paula, Depp v Heard, a co-production with Netflix, and Kids. Single films include Accused: The Hampstead Paedophile  Hoax, Grenfell, My Sexual Abuse: The Sitcom and How to Survive a Dictator with Munya Chawawa. Shaminder was one of the commissioners behind the Black to Front project. Prior to Channel 4, she was Deputy Editor of Channel 4 News and Newsnight.

Vinny Hurrell

Producer & Presenter, BBC
Vinny Hurrell is a producer and presenter working for the BBC. Currently he presents the daily 'Vinny & Cate' radio show on BBC Radio Ulster and BBC Sounds podcast series 'Sleep And Dream' and 'The Easy Wellness Podcast'. Vinny has worked across various genres, spending over a decade in News & Current Affairs and producing the Nolan Show on radio and BBC One. He has also presented a variety of TV shows for the BBC ranging from property to travel and chat show anchor.

Andy Brereton

Senior Comedy Commissioning Editor, Channel 4
Andy is currently Senior Commissioning Editor in the Comedy team at Channel 4. Before joining Channel 4, Andy was co-Managing Director of Shiny Button Productions. The company produced scripted comedy shows King Gary, Murder They Hope, Amazon comedy film “Your Xmas or Mine” and Channel 4’s The Curse. Prior to that he was Head of Development at Tiger Aspect, creating the BAFTA winning Murder in Successville, Crackanory, Murder on the Blackpool Express and Drunk History.

Nevine Mabro

Commissioning Editor, Channel 4
Nevine Mabro is a commissioning editor at Channel 4 in News and Current Affairs. She has commissioned the BAFTA winning Children of the Taliban, the Peabody winning Ukraine: Life Under Attack and recent films Kill Zone: Inside Gaza, State of Rage & The Cranes Call. Before joining Channel 4 as a commissioner she produced For Sama - a feature documentary directed by Waad al-Kateab and Edward Watts - a film that started life as a series of Channel 4 News reports in 2016 and went on to gain an Oscar nomination. At Channel 4 News she did a range of roles including Deputy Editor and previously Head of Foreign News and Films. She exec-produced three International Emmy winning news films from Syria during that time - Horror of Homs in 2013, Agony of Aleppo in 2014 and Inside Aleppo in 2016.
