Oisín Kearney is a writer and director represented by Curtis Brown. He co-wrote with Michael Patrick and directed the award-winning stageplay My Left Nut, and translated it to screen in an upcoming BBC Three series. He was part of the BBC Belfast Voices screenwriting scheme and has recontextualised Willy Russell’s scripts of Educating Rita and Shirley Valentine to Belfast for the Lyric Theatre. He also co-wrote The Alternative, which won Fishamble’s A PLAY FOR IRELAND initiative and premiered at Dublin Theatre Festival 2019 before a sell-out tour of six theatres in Ireland. Oisín produced and directed short documentaries ‘All For Show’ (BBC NI), BBEYOND (BBC Arts Show), BORDERLANDS and UNFINISHED REVOLUTION (De Correspondent, NPO2). Oisín was Assistant Producer on Oscar-longlisted and Emmy-nominated documentary ELIÁN, and Irish box-office hit 66 DAYS, and he recently directed his first feature documentary BOJAYÁ: Caught In The Crossfire, which premiered at Hot Docs Film Festival in Toronto. Oisín studied Politics at the University of Cambridge.
