With an early formal training in design, Hauke studied Production Design at the London Film School. From there, he first worked under Oscar-winning designers John Box and Roy Walker, and his resume has been built up with some very assured work in the art department on pictures such as Polanski’s ‘The Pianist’ (as senior set designer), ‘Colour Me Kubrick’ and ‘Mrs Henderson Presents’.
He is probably best know for his work on HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ which has spanned five seasons and for which he art directed and designed legendary sets such as Winterfell, Riverrun, Hardhome, The Silence and many more.
He has just finished filming another high end Television spectacular “Treadstone” for NBC Universal, and is currently still involved with the Game of Thrones ‘Legacy’, the set experience which will be based in and around Belfast and will develop further over the coming years. He is currently also working on the production design of the feature film “Goose Green” for director John Irvin.
Hauke lives in London and Belfast with his partner and their two sons.
