Future Screens Northern Ireland

Future Screens Northern Ireland Presents…

Future Screens NI presents a panel of creators who are first to the mark to explore the artistic potential for XR, VR and AR. The panel will explore the boundless possibilities in a frontier medium, and how film, animation, episodic entertainment and gaming has been and may be adapted to tell stories in new dimensions.

The panel will be joined by Mária Rakušanová, Mária leads Platform Partnerships and Content Acquisition for HTC VIVE in Europe, and has also curated the last three seasons of Raindance Immersive, the XR strand of the Raindance Film Festival in London. A number of VR and XR experiences will be available to enjoy at the festival thanks to our partners HTC.

Future Screens NI comprises the two higher education institutions (Ulster University and QUB) and a number of key industrial partners central to the creative economy in the region, including NI Screen, BBC, Belfast City Council, Belfast Harbour, Causeway Enterprise Agency, Digital Catapult, Catalyst Inc., RTE, Games NI, Kainos, Invest NI, Techstart NI, Matrix and Tourism NI. Future Screens is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and industry partners to promote collaboration, grow productivity and maximise the global potential of Northern Irish companies, delivering new jobs and to boost the local economy.
